Warehouse Live in Houston, TX, on Friday (March 14) was the place to be for R&B lovers. Jacquees — better known as the self-proclaimed “King of R&B” —lit up the stage for an unforgettable night of smooth vocals, raw energy, and a true fan connection for his Lowkey R&B had the honor of covering the entire show from a special vantage point—backstage with his family and friends, giving an up-close experience with the artist himself.
The evening kicked off with four stellar opening acts that set the tone and elevated the vibe. The talented artists Leroy, Liverachi, Tarion, and Talameshia each brought their own flavor, warming the crowd up with performances that kept the audience engaged. Each artist's performance felt personal and very unique to their own style. By the time Jacquees stepped onto the stage, the crowd was fully locked in.
The venue echoed with vocals as he sang hit after hit. The ladies in the audience were so captivated by the singer, they sang every lyric word for word, to songs like "B.E.D." and "You", creating an intimate experience in a crowded atmosphere. It was like witnessing pure charisma as Jacquees fed off the energy of his fans, delivering sensual dance moves for the single people and creating a slow dancing vibe for the lovers in the place.
The signature part of the night was when Jacquees took it back to his Quemix catalog, delivering a throwback of remixes and covers that gave him his name in the R&B genre. His rendition of Ella Mai’s “Trip” had the crowd swaying and singing their hearts out. He then switched to PartyNextDoor’s “Persian Rugs,” where the vibe turned sultry and nostalgic—reminding everyone why his "Quemixes" are a staple in the R&B industry.
After the show wrapped up, Jacquees personally requested that our crew continue to roll with him for the rest of the night. We made our way over to Club Reset, where the after-party vibes were just as lit as his show. Surrounded by his entourage and fans who couldn’t get enough, it was a celebration of music, culture, and genuine connections.
From backstage access to late-night memories, this night wasn’t like any other show we've covered—it was an unforgettable experience. Salute to Jacquees and his team for inviting Lowkey R&B to be a part of it all. Houston showed out, so you know R&B isn't dead.
