Houston got a taste of soul-stirring R&B when Destin Conrad brought his Love on Digital Tour to town, and it was a night that reminded everyone why live music is irreplaceable.

The evening opened with Los Angeles-based artist Mack Keane, who wasted no time proving that he’s more than an opener. Switching effortlessly between velvety vocals and the keys, Keane showcased his versatility as not only a singer but also a producer and songwriter. His set blended tracks from his catalog with unreleased gems, including a tender track titled “Sophia,” which instantly won the crowd over.

Admitting that it was his first time in Houston and his first tour, Keane’s humility and honest artistry resonated deeply. Houston’s response was thunderous, and with all the love they showed him, certainly, this won’t be his last performance here.

When the lights dimmed and Destin Conrad humbly walked on stage, the energy shifted. Without theatrics, his presence alone commanded attention. Wearing a black shirt with a silver sequined pattern, he opened with ease and quickly moved through a setlist that spanned his catalog. The crowd heard selections from Love on Digital, his newer releases, and collaborations with artists like Teezo Touchdown, Alex Isley, and Kehlani.

From the very first song, Conrad had the audience singing along word-for-word. He leaned into the crowd, sparking a playful vocal competition to see which side of the venue could sing louder. “Houston, I’m impressed,” he grinned, clearly feeding off the city’s energy.

There were moments where he was visibly taken aback by the applause and appreciation pouring from the crowd. He paused between songs, smiling widely, almost in awe. His vocals were so strong and pure that at times he performed with no background vocals or backing tracks, relying solely on his live voice. He even sang acappella during parts of the show, effortlessly holding the room’s attention with nothing but his tone and emotion. Houston’s love left a mark on him, and although this was his first show in the city, it won’t be his last.

The night came with surprises that elevated the show even further. Destin brought out Ambré for a special guest appearance that made the crowd roar in excitement. She performed two songs, including an unreleased track, and her talent was undeniable.  The crowd was reminded that R&B’s future is collaborative, vulnerable, and thriving.

Conrad’s setlist hit every emotion and showcased his range as both a vocalist and songwriter. Highlights included “Same Mistake” featuring Alex Isley, “In the Air,” and “The Last Time” featuring Houston’s very own Teezo Touchdown. He got the crowd hyped when he performed “Bad Bitches” featuring Kehlani and had everyone locked in when he sang “Bill$.” He closed the night with his popular hit “Kissing in Public,” sending the crowd into a final wave of cheers that echoed long after he left the stage.

Beyond the undeniable vocals, Destin Conrad revealed why he is carving a lane all his own in R&B. He is not just a singer. He is a producer, a songwriter, and a performer with a magnetic personality that translates seamlessly on stage. Passing out water to fans between songs, he showed humility and care that made the night feel intimate despite the packed venue.

From his comedic beginnings on Vine in his adolescence to now becoming a respected R&B voice, Destin has grown up publicly. Houston got to witness that evolution firsthand, seeing an artist stepping fully into his craft. Vulnerable, dynamic, and fearless, Destin left fans with the kind of performance that lingers long after the lights come up.
