The crowd buzzed with excitement and anticipation as fans filled the venue, ready for what was sure to be a memorable night. DJ Oreo kicked things off, setting the tone and bringing the party energy early. Following DJ Oreo’s set, Houston’s own Tisakorean hit the stage, turning things up even more. With his A1 clique alongside him—including artist Mighty Bay—he brought nonstop hype, performing like it was the liveliest house party in the city.

As the energy built, Houston legend Lil’ Flip made a surprise appearance during intermission, performing a few classics that had the crowd rapping along and representing for H-Town.

Then the main event arrived. Chance the Rapper hit the stage full of energy and emotion, and it was immediately clear that this tour was something deeply personal. Having been off the road for years, Chance returned with a renewed spirit and purpose. The show opened with clips of Richard Pryor projected onto a massive sheet, setting a reflective tone before Chance stepped out to perform “Star Side” under soft lights—just him, a mic, and the music.

He quickly picked up the tempo with crowd favorites like “Ride,” which had the entire room singing word for word. From there, he flowed through songs like “Good Ass Intro,” “Burn Ya Block,” “Drapetomania,” and other cuts from his latest project, Star Line.

One of the most powerful moments came when Chance got visibly emotional on stage, pausing between songs to express his love for Houston. He shared how much the city means to him—calling it a second home—and why he chose to start his tour here. The crowd’s response made it clear the love was mutual.

When the opening notes of “No Problem” dropped, the room exploded. It instantly transported everyone back to the Coloring Book era—a cultural moment that marked a major chapter in Chance’s career. The energy was electric as he moved into fan favorites like “All Night,” showing off his dance moves and joy. He paused to thank Houston for being such a key part of his journey, reminding the audience that the city played a major role in his rise a decade ago—from those early mixtape days to Grammy stages.

He then performed “All We Got,” which fittingly ties into the tour’s title, And We Back, before transitioning into “Blessings”—a deeply personal track and a highlight for longtime fans. Hearing it live felt spiritual; a reminder of why Chance’s music has touched so many.

The set then shifted toward his newer material, showcasing his growth and storytelling. During “Just a Drop,” Chance performed inside a transparent box with projected visuals of fire, light beams, and desert landscapes—symbolizing reflection, struggle, and renewal. It felt like watching a live testimony.

To close the night, he performed “Back to the Go,” a triumphant reminder of where he came from and how far he’s come. It was the perfect ending to a night rooted in love, faith, and evolution.

This show wasn’t about flashy effects or guest appearances—it was about art, message, and connection. With just a mic, a light, and the words on the screen behind him, Chance invited us into his story. The And We Back Tour felt personal for him, but somehow he made it personal for us too. Houston wasn’t just his first stop—it was his reflection.
