To begin the show, Joony got the crowd going! The Maryland rapper performed hits he featured on such as “FYTB” with Brent Faiyaz and “IDC” with Jordan Ward. He also gave the Houston fans a quick snippet performance of new music and a collaborative project with Ward called JRNY which dropped on Oct. 4. Please go look him up on all your streaming platforms if you haven’t!

As the crowd began to feel the vibration of the night, it was time for the next act. Bring forth none other than Leon Thomas! Many people may know him from the TV series “Victorious,” but if Houston concertgoers didn’t know him for his music before they are tuned now! Leon Thomas’ mic was on and the vibes were set. Walking on stage with his bass guitar he made a name for himself with Houston’s fans; as one attendee said “This is my new favorite artist!” Thomas definitely put a staple down on opening night giving fans a true taste of musicianship.

Performing a soon-to-be smash hit “Mutt” off his newly released album of the same name. Some were singing every word, while others nodded their head and grooved to the tunes. Thomas definitely will receive a warm welcome when he returns on his tour on November 24. Be on the lookout!

As the crowd was still in a frenzy from the previous amazing performers, it was time for Blxst to hit the stage! From stage ambiance to performance Blxst really put on a great show. He had an amazing setup by turning the entire stage at House of Blues into a body shop with an actual car on stage. Blxst showed this Houstonian why he is here to stay, from choreography to singing to the actual play of the concert this show was 10/10. Showing off his ability to dance while holding a note— it’s fair to say Blxst mic was on! As he performed “Dance With The Devil” he proved to a nonbeliever that he’s a force to be reckoned with. That being said, with Houston as the first city of the tour most will say “RUN, DON’T WALK” and grab your ticket to the I’ll Always Come Find You tour and I guarantee you will enjoy the experience.
