Top 2023 Free Agent Tight Ends
What You Expect is always here to provide you with details when it comes to an NFL-free agent, specifically tight ends. The tight-end position features a few really good players that are due to get paid thus it will be interesting if their teams prioritize them.
Before we continue if you want to jump to another position click here:
QB | RB | WR | TE | OLine | DL / EDGE | LB | DB
The tight end position does not have a massive pool thus I will keep this very short. Players such as Irv Smith, Austin Hooper, and Robert Tonyan are decent players that should find a home if their teams do not decide to keep them. We are in a space in the NFL where there are 3 elite tight ends and then a massive drop-off after, which is why teams do not spend at the position.

1 Evan Engram
Even Engram aka drops finally put together the best season of his career. I always knew that Engram had talent but the New York lights were just too bright for him. Everyone should look for Evan to have a big impact on the Jacksonville Jaguars as they continue to become a better team. I am unsure if the Jaguars will let Evan make 9 million yearly again but I am sure he will have more long-term security.
Prediction: Jacksonville Jaguars
2 Dalton Schultz
Dalton Schultz is one of the better tight ends In the NFL. The Cowboys are always known to have a good tight end but after paying Dak Prescott, Zeke, and others, the funds are low and the debts are high. I expect Dalton to get a lot of attention from teams this offense thus I look for him to be on the move. The perfect landing spot is a borderline playoff team that lacks offensive firepower.
Prediction: Tennesse Titans
3 Hayden Hurst
Hurst has finally found a great home in Cincinnati. The tight end has made a great impact on the middle of the field for the Bengals. The veteran tight end will hopefully give Cincy a discount if not he may be on the move this offseason due to the Bengals prioritizing Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins. A backup option for Hurst if the Bengals fall through could be going back to his hometown Jacksonville if the team decides to move on from paying Evan Engram the big bucks.
Prediction: Cincinnati Bengals or Jacksonville Jaguars
4 Mike Gesicki
Mike Gesicki as a talent would be a lot higher on this list if the Miami Dolphins actually utilized him. I can see Gesicki signing a contract such as Engram last year, a one-year prove-it deal. Not many teams are hungry for a tight end thus his market may be very small. Two teams that may call for his services are the Commanders who have a quarterback at tight end or the Raiders if they decide to move on from Waller.
Prediction: Las Vegas Raiders or Washington Commanders
