New York Knicks Weekly Review: WTF?

SEASON RECORD

7-8

Week record: 1-3

 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Until somebody steps up and actually remains consistent, Julius will win this every week. Julius Randle again proves that he is the face of the franchise. Randle averaged 22.2 points, 7 rebounds and alongside 5 assists. Julius Randle proves again why he is the most consistent player on the floor for the Knicks. He shows up every night, even when his teammates seem to have take a night off. Get Julius Randle some help please! The man is playing his heart out and everybody else is streaky. If they can get it going, Julius Randle will have a strong case for Most Improved Player. GET THAT MAN SOME HELP!!!

PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK!

On January 13, 2021, Julius Randle went up against the best scorer the league has ever seen, Kevin Durant. Even though the Knicks lost that game, Julius Randle was the better scorer that night. He scored 30 points to go along with 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. It was a close game until the final few minutes. The win would’ve been great but it was beautiful seeing Julius Randle getting into the element.

SURPRISE PLAYER OF THE WEEK!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf82uyS81VY

I would be remiss if I did not mention a certain player who has been on the radar for a few weeks. Last week he seemed to have stepped into a good grove. The player is ‘Mr. Bucket Getter’ himself, Immanuel Quickley. He scored 19 points against the Nets then followed up with a 23 points performance against Cleveland. The kid has an unguardable floater. He is the Knicks player to watch. He is very fun to watch— he just might have a better career than Obi Toppin.

SUMMARY

The Knicks hit rock bottom. To be very honest I want to stop the summary right there. I am actually speechless that we are in this place. We have to get better and consistent immediately. Julius Randle is doing everything he can to help but no one else is. The Knicks success lies in the hands of their role players but they have yet to show up consistently. Knicks have gone from blown leads to being blown out. We can still make the playoffs if our players put their head up and start applying real pressure. If they cannot do this, then it will be a very very long season.
