10 Players to Watch in the G-League

The NBA G-League kicks off today (February 10th) at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I believe due to the pandemic and a lot of Americans working from home, the numbers for G-League viewership will be through the roof. Due to that, What You Expect decided to put together a list of 10 players to look out for…

10 VIT KREJI, OKLAHOMA CITY BLUE

Vit is a 20-year-old player out of the Czech Republic. Sam Presti drafted him with the 37th pick in 2021. Due to Presti’s history of drafting players, you should definitely keep an eye out for Kreji. Vit may be the next steal in the draft.

9 ADMIRAL SCHOFIELD, GREENSBORO SWARM

Schofield was the number one pick in the G-League draft. He is an interesting player, standing at only 6-5 however plays like a big-man. Admiral could end up dominating the G-League’s bubble and land himself on an NBA roster before the end of the season.

8 JEREMY LIN, SANTA CRUZ WARRIORS

I really don’t know why J Lin is in the G-league but he will always be a box office player. I expect his games to be the most-watched in the G-League. He may no longer be an NBA player but I expect him to average 25+ in the G- League.

7 ALLONZO TRIER, IOWA WOLVES

I honestly thought Trier would be a future piece of the Knicks guard rotation; however, he found himself out of the NBA very quickly. He was a previous 5-star recruit who averaged 10 points a game in the NBA. Expect him to go crazy in the G-League.

6 ANTONIO BLAKENEY, CANTON CHARGE

Do you remember Antonio Blakeney? He was a 5-star recruit who joined Ben Simmons at LSU for a year. Years later he has proven to be a great scorer in the G-League. With NBA rosters being thin I expect him to go all out to find himself on the end of an NBA bench by the end of the season.

5 MYLES POWELL, WESTCHESTER KNICKS

Myles Powell dominated college basketball and quite frankly he should dominate the G-League as well. Expect him to be the best player on the Westchester Knicks and score ALOT of points.

4 ISAIAH TODD, G LEAGUE IGNITE

Todd was a 5-star recruit and the number 2 power forward in his class, per Rivals. His team is stacked with young kids so it will be interesting to see if he can shine enough to work his way into the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft.

3 DAISHEN NIX, G LEAGUE IGNITE

Nix was the 3rd point guard in his class, per Rivals. The players above Nix were Jalen Suggs and Cade Cunningham. Both players are proving how good they are at the college level. It will be interesting to see if Nix can make the scouts as excited as the other two.

2 JALEN GREEN, G LEAGUE IGNITE

The number two player in his class, per Rivals. Jalen Green was the first player to announce that he would enter the G-League over attending college. Green will have a lot of eyes on him thus I hope he is ready to put on a show.

1 JONATHAN KUMINGA, G LEAGUE IGNITE

Kuminga was number 3 in his class, per Rivals. I believe he will be the most NBA-ready out of all of the kids playing on the G League Ignite. Kuminga’s scoring and defensive ability will instantly translate at the next level. If he plays well enough he will be in contention to be the number one pick with Cade Cunningham and Jalen Suggs.
