Before Davido took the stage, the crowd was already buzzing. A lively DJ set got the arena moving, and an international roll call moment raised the energy even higher. Fans proudly represented their roots from West Africa, East Africa, Jamaica, the Caribbean, and the U.S., turning the space into one big cultural homecoming. Flags flew, voices lifted, and the love in the room was loud and proud.
The show officially kicked off with the popular Afro-pop and R&B duo Bracket, whose smooth vocals and engaging stage presence warmed up the crowd. They were followed by the high-energy ODUMODUBLVCK, whose electrifying performance and crowd control kept the vibes soaring and set the perfect tone for the headliner.
Then, as Davido’s set began, two Egungun masquerades appeared on stage, reflecting the imagery from his 5ive album cover and setting a powerful tone rooted in heritage. As the masquerades slowly moved apart, there he was, the moment everyone had been waiting for. Davido appeared, and the crowd went wild.
He delivered hit after hit, taking fans on a journey through his catalog with songs like “R&B,” “The Money,” “Risky,” “Titanium,” and “DON’T KNOW.” One standout moment was his heartfelt performance of “With You,” a crowd favorite that had everyone singing along. But perhaps the most viral moment of the night came when the beat dropped for “Unavailable.” The entire venue joined in on the viral dance that has taken over the internet. Watching thousands of people move in unison was pure magic.
Midway through the set, Davido brought ODUMODUBLVCK back onstage to perform their collaboration “Funds.” The energy spiked, and fans went wild. Then came a surprise appearance by Adekunle Gold, sending the crowd into a frenzy and reminding everyone of the tight-knit Afrobeats community.

Davido didn’t just perform from the main stage; he wanted to be among his fans. At one point, he made his way to a platform in the middle of the crowd, performing while surrounded by ecstatic fans lucky enough to be that close. He then walked through the audience, singing and interacting face to face before returning to the main stage. It was intimate, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
He also showcased tracks from his newest album, 5ive, performing songs like “Offa Me” featuring Victoria Monét. While the production and visuals were flawless, it was Davido’s passion, charisma, and deep connection with his fans that truly carried the night.
The 5ive Alive Tour stop in Houston was not just a concert; it was an immersive experience. The room was full of rhythm, joy, and unity. Afrobeats lovers from all backgrounds danced, cheered, and sang together, celebrating an artist who continues to make global waves without ever forgetting his roots.
Davido did not just perform. He connected, uplifted, and gave everything he had. Houston showed up, and he gave us a night to remember.
